About Your Speaker:
Matthew Fischer is a co-founder of EF Capital, a Hampton Roads based investment firm that is focused on building and investing in traditional businesses that can be revolutionized through the application of emerging technology. EF Capital's early focus has been on building a vertically integrated approach (acquire, design, renovate, furnish, manage) to converting multi-family real estate into furnished housing for tenants desiring flexible and dynamic lease durations from 1- to 365-days. This strategy is carried out through the investment arm of EF Capital and its portfolio companies focused on 3D scanning and modeling technology (ConstructTech), lean-construction (Elysion), and next-generation short-term rental management (Tesseract Rentals).
Prior to launching EF Capital, Matt received a degree in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech, led operations for medical device businesses, received an MBA from Harvard Business School, and co-led the development of a new entrepreneurship program for Harvard Business School.
